What is Latine Futures Month?
In the fall of 2024, I launched Latine Futures Month, a project aimed at celebrating up-and-coming Latine creatives, activists, and changemakers in Denver. The concept was something that I had been sitting with for the past few years: how do we uplift and celebrate the work happening in our communities in real time? With Latinx Heritage Month, we often find ourselves waiting until someone has created a 30 to 40 year legacy to honor them for their important works, but how can we support the leaders, movements, and energy of right now?
